Watch Boxer Puppies Grow

If there is one thing I love to do, it is to watch Boxer puppies grow! I can, and often do, spend hours and hours just watching them as they learn how to find thier first meal all the way to playing tug of war with a littermate.  It is during these times of quiet observation, that I get to see how they interact with each other, when I learn about the personality traits of each pup.  This is when I gain the insight that is invaluable when it comes time to place these pups in new homes.  There aren’t many breeders out there that spend the time to get to know their pups as individuals.  It makes it harder to let them go because in getting to know them, I fall in love with them.  That too is to the advantage of the puppy buyer because my puppies know the joy of being loved by a human from a very young age, and it shows.  One of the most common comments I hear from new owners is “I swear this puppy can read my mind!”  Maybe they do.   I invite you now to take advantage of this opportunity to watch as our new litter of puppies grow. Most people do not get the opportunity to get to know a litter of puppies until they are 6-8 weeks of age, usually when they arrive to pick one to buy.  This is your chance to see what breeders see, the evolution of individuality that comes as a puppy matures from a tiny little newborn into a bouncy, wiggly and totally lovable bundle of energy that is ready to go to his or her...

Top 20 Pet Businesses

Ok, I have to admit that when I decided to do this series of posts on Pet Businesses I really thought it would be a slam dunk easy thing to do. Well, today I can tell you that I was very wrong and that is why it took me two days to get the list put together. As I started to do some research into what the current Top 20 Pet Businesses were I found myself drawn into the online marketing effort to sell people a turnkey pet business. That is a huge business all on its own! I was amazed and at the same time horrified to see all the effort that was being put into convincing the poor hapless soul who stumbled across those sites that all a person needed to do was fork over several hundred to several thousand dollars and whalla! Instant pet business, complete with over priced merchandise and an ongoing contract to keep paying, and keep paying, and keep paying, for the privilege of chasing the dream and ending up broke. It was very sad. I hope to save some of my readers from that fate, and if you are one of those who got sucked into that hype at sometime in the past, you have my sympathy because – yes, I have done it too. But I’ve learned my lesson. Have you? Let’s explore some REAL pet business opportunities and discuss the possibilities for each of them. For today I want to share the list I created during my search. I was taking into consideration both brick and mortar business models as...

How do I start a pet business?

It seems like the economy is bringing out the entrepreneur in everyone and over the last few weeks I have had numerous calls and emails from people who are looking for information about starting a pet business of one kind or another. Because of that interest I have decided to explore the possibilities, the pros and cons of each and what considerations need to be examined before starting any type of pet business. I will post a series of reports on this subject and some of the topics I will cover for you are: What are the most popular pet businesses? What is the easiest pet business to start? Where is the best money? How much does it cost to get started? What unique pet businesses are out there? What about the basics like getting a business license? What pet businesses do well online? Where can a person get training to start a pet business? And as I go along I am sure that there will be so much more. This is a subject that is dear to my heart because I have struggled to be a stay-at-home mom for more than 20 years and my pet businesses have helped to make that possible. As this series unfolds I hope to share some of my passion for this subject and a great deal of my experience in how I went about building several successful pet businesses. Do you have a question about building a pet business? If you have questions you would like me to address please leave them in the comments area below this post or submit them...
White Boxer Puppies: Our Policy

White Boxer Puppies: Our Policy

Since we just had one born, now is a good time to share our policy on White Boxer Puppies. B4 Boxers is white boxer friendly, but we actively work to produce dogs that conform to the current Boxer Breed Standard. We believe that a Boxer is a Boxer, and a white one is just as intelligent, beautiful and just as outstanding as a companion as a colored dog. On the rare occasions that we do produce white puppies, we allow them to remain with the litter and raise them with the same loving care as any colored pup gets unless there is a very good reason to remove them. Have I ever culled white pups? Yes, I have, and colored pups as well. The decision to cull one or more pups from a litter is always a difficult one, and must take into account all the pups, colored or not, in the assessment of overall health, confirmation and maturity. I do not believe in letting any animal suffer. When it is obvious that, despite my best efforts, a pup is not going to make it, I do the right thing and put them down. As a responsible breeder I accept that obligation and utilize the most humane means I possibly can to end that life. Do we support the breeding white Boxers? Yes and No. We do believe that there are some white dogs who can be of great value to the overall Boxer gene pool, but we do not advocate the breeding of whites as a rule but rather as a very rare exception. I believe that any...

Looking for Boxer puppies for sale?

Finding a quality boxer puppy for sale can be a real challenge, especially if you are looking for a dog that stands a chance of living more than the current US average of 8 years. Many times I have been asked why boxers die so young. If we take a look at how boxers are bred here in the US versus how they are bred in European countries, it might lend some light on the answer. Here in the United States great emphasis has been put into producing a dog that is beautiful, elegant and refined. Often times a great deal of planning goes into trying to produce litters with lots of “flash” – the white markings that offer such a beautiful contrast to an otherwise plain fawn or brindle coat. That is what the puppy buying population here in the US is looking for, so that is what is produced. There is very little consideration given to the level of intelligence that is being bred into a litter. Appearance is the prime consideration and even in the AKC show ring, judges evaluate everything from the color of a dog’s eyes, to alignment of the front teeth and everything in between, but sadly – there is no routine scoring system to gauge the dog’s intelligence or working ability. Also, the judge’s evaluation of the individual dog does not become a part of the dog’s registration records. The only thing that does is any points the dog may earn toward their championship status. In Europe things are much different. Top breeders are very aware that the Boxer is first and...

Inquiring minds want to know…

I want to take a moment and thank everyone for their kind words on our new site. It is a work in progress, but very soon now I will be providing a series of articles that answer some of the most frequent questions I get asked by new puppy owners as well as other bits of information that I think might be helpful to my readers. One of the areas that I want to give special attention to is the question of “How do I afford my ‘Boxer habit’?” I currently have 10 adults and 5 new puppies in my house and the care and feeding of this many dogs is definitely a challenge at times and while it is true that one of the ways I provide for them all is of course via the sale of quality Boxer Puppies and Stud service to approved bitches, in reality those activities alone are inadequate to the task. I just don’t produce enough puppies to pay the day to day bills, much less turn a profit. So where does that leave me? Well, like so many other pet lovers, I have looked for other ways to earn income from my dogs. If you take a look around this site you can see a few of them. I run ads for training programs and other dog related products, I do training classes for youth groups and neighbors, anything I can find to do. Sharing this and other similar information with you, my fellow dog lover, I hope to help you find creative ways to afford your own “dog habit”. Keep watch...

Boxer Puppies are the cutest!

There is just something about puppies. Their cute little noses, their tiny little feet, their frantic snuffling and then they latch onto whatever they can find, your finger, your chin, your nose. Ok. I admit it – I’m in love….again. We are happy to announce the arrival of new puppies by Paige and Cypher. We have a brindle boy, a fawn boy and a white girl. The girl was spoken for before she was 48 hours old but the two boys are still available and everyone will be ready to go home during the last week in September. If you are looking for a quality bred Boxer puppy to enrich your life, look no further. These pups are 3/4 European bloodlines with the other quarter predominantly Boxella bloodlines. Both of these lines are proven for health, intelligence, and a gentle disposition. These pups are available to approved pet homes only. We offer a guarantee and lifetime assistance and support to our clients. If you are interested in more information just drop me a line via the Contact Us form and I will get in touch with you right away. Be sure to give me your contact information and don’t worry – I hate spam and promise to keep your information confidential. More pictures are available on our Puppy...

Congratulations to BoxEra Boxers…

This handsome boy is the newest addition to the BoxEra Boxers family. He comes to them from Holland Boxers where Sami is doing an excellent job of producing top quality Euro style puppies! This boy is 3/4 import blood from such distinguished kennels as Wordonis & Boksdoorn, and I don’t mind admitting that he has a healthy portion of my bloodline as well. If it weren’t for the fact that a full sister to this awesome boy will be joining us in a few months, I would have purchased him myself. They couldn’t have made a better choice for a new stud dog in their kennel. I suggest everyone keep an eye on BoxEra – they just raised the bar on their next generation and the results look to be...

We are welcoming a new family member…

Isn’t she adorable? Fast forward almost three years and you will have this… Pretty awesome, huh? Due to a series of unfortunate conflicts between the female residents at her home in Loveland Cincinnatti, it has been decided that it is in Miya’s best interest to re-home her with us and we are more than happy to welcome her with open arms. Already in residence are two full siblings and one half sibling and we couldn’t be happier to add one more! The incredible puppies that have come from this cross are well worth doubling up on and since Xoey (the mother of them all) is due to be retired soon, there won’t be any more where these came from. Please join with us to welcome Miya to the household and offer a very grateful THANK YOU to Sandra Dunn at Dunnford Boxers for choosing us as the new home of her precious...
